FIGHTER STRONGER FIGHT TO THE END

I’ve been reading many different sources and most opinions are saying that strength only matters minimally in a fight and that improving upper body strength like curling, benching, and shoulder presses won’t help you punch harder or give you a real advantage in combat

I apologize if this question seems silly, but I am just ignorant in this area. I’m also really interested in getting a knowledgeable answer to this as.

I am a very strong girl who is looking into practicing MMA partly for fun and partly for self defense reasons. I’ve never really thrown a punch but I got to the point where I can out-lift untrained men and beat them in arm wrestles if they’re within 20lbs of my size. It just doesn’t make sense hearing this won’t help me hit harder if strength is the very reason why men can dominate women in fights.
